We Believe

The gospel message of the Bible can be summarized in three points:
The Solution
The Decision
The Problem

All of humanity has a problem—sin. Any action or thought that falls short of God’s perfect standard is sin.  (Romans 3:23)

The Bible teaches us that the consequence for sin is separation from our holy God. (Isaiah 59:2) In fact, the Bible goes on to say that end result of sin is judgment (Hebrews 9:27), condemnation (John 3:36), and death (Romans 6:23) and that there is nothing we can do to solve this problem on our own.

The Solution

Thank God the story doesn’t end there! While we can’t solve this sin problem on our own, there is someone who can.

The solution is found in Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23) Jesus was sent to take our punishment—to die in our place. (John 3:16) He paid the penalty of our sin so that we could be reconciled to God, both now and in eternity. (I John 4:10)

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only solution for our sin problem. (John 14:6)

The Decision

It is not enough to just know about Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. We must choose to put our trust in Christ, to receive this free gift of salvation that God offers. (John 1:12)

Everyone must make their own decision.  What will you do with Jesus Christ? Will you welcome Him into your heart and life? Will you let His love transform you? Consider carefully; your choice has eternal consequences.

Statement of Faith

  1. The Bible is the supreme and final authority for faith and practice for the church and its members. (2 Peter 1:3-4, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  2. Jesus Christ is our Lord and God, who created all that exists, who secured salvation from the penalty of hell (to all who receive Him) through His death, burial, and bodily resurrection. (John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16-18, Hebrews 1:8-9, I Corinthians 15:1-4, Acts 4:12)

  3. Salvation is by grace through faith in the substitutionary death of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10, Acts 4:12)

  4. Every Christian is baptized by the Holy Spirit when he believes the gospel of Jesus Christ.  At that moment he also receives a spiritual gift to be used to edify the body of Christ. (Galatians 3:2, Ephesians 1:13, 1 Corinthians 12:11-13, 1 Peter 4:10)

  5. Every believer is a priest and is to offer up spiritual sacrifices. (1 Peter 2:9-10, Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 13:15-16, Psalms 51:17)

  6. God gave two ordinances to be celebrated by the church: baptism by water and the Lord’s supper. (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

  7. Jesus Christ could return at any time and take His church out of this world to be with Him forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 3:3, Revelation 16:5)
